Common questions
How do I connect my bank?
Open the app, go to the Accounts tab, and tap Add Account. We use Plaid to securely connect to your bank — your credentials are entered directly with Plaid and never seen by Stork Money.
Why is one bank working but another isn’t?
Plaid supports thousands of institutions but coverage varies. If your bank doesn’t appear or returns “Connectivity not supported,” you can still import transactions via CSV (Account Settings → Import transactions).
How do I disconnect a linked account?
Account Settings → Connected accounts → tap the account → Disconnect. This revokes Plaid’s access immediately and stops further data syncing.
How do I delete my account?
Account Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and removes all your transactions, accounts, FIRE profile, and connected institutions. This cannot be undone.
How does the FIRE number calculator work?
Stork Money uses your actual expected monthly retirement expenses — not a percentage of income. Enter what you expect to spend in retirement, and we calculate your FIRE number using a 25× multiplier (the 4% rule), then project your retirement date based on your current savings rate and expected investment return. These figures are estimates for planning purposes, not guarantees.
Is Stork Money a financial advisor?
No. Stork Money is an informational tool to help you track your finances and plan for financial independence. We do not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Consult a licensed professional for personalized advice.
What does it cost?
Every new account gets a 14-day free trial of the full app — no credit card required. When the trial ends, a Premium subscription is required to keep using the app. Premium is:
- Annual — $99/year (limited-time launch offer: $49 for your first year, then $99/year)
- Monthly — $8.25/month
You can subscribe or manage your plan anytime from Account Settings. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel from your subscription settings.
How is my data protected?
Read our Privacy Policy for full details. Highlights: TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, bcrypt password hashing, and additional encryption on bank connection tokens. We never sell your data.
